Settings
The following settings are available for altering the behavior of the Gravity Ball Screen Saver.
Setting
Default
Description
Number of Balls
6
The number of balls to be displayed on screen. The interaction between each ball and all others is calculated with each cycle. The number of calculations required is n*(n1) (ideally, this should be n*(n1)/2, that will come in a future release). Two balls
require two sets of calculations, three balls require six sets of calculations, four balls rewquire twelve sets of calculations. If the screen saver starts to slow down, then reduce the number of balls generated.

Gravity
0.0010000
A constant used to control the gravimetric attraction between two balls. Note that this is an arbitrary number. It should be increased for larger resolution screens, and decreased for smaller resolution screens.

Mass (Minimum)
1,000
The mass of each ball is randomly calculated between the minimum and maximum values. Note that this is an arbitrary number.

Mass (Maximum)
100,000
The mass of each ball is randomly calculated between the minimum and maximum values. Note that this is an arbitrary number.

Velocity (Maximum)
1
The maximum initial starting velocity of each ball. This is randomly initialized. This is measured in pixels per calculation cycle.

Elasticity (Minimum)
0.00
The elasticity of each ball is randomly calculated between the minimum and maximum values. This value is used to determine how much a ball will bounce when it impacts the edge of the screen. Values larger than 1 will cause the balls to travel gain velocity
each time the edge of the screen is impacted.
Elasticity (Maximum)
0.01
The elasticity of each ball is randomly calculated between the minimum and maximum values. This value is used to determine how much a ball will bounce when it impacts the edge of the screen. Values larger than 1 will cause the balls to travel gain velocity
each time the edge of the screen is impacted.
Recommended settings
The settings may be altered according to screen resolution. In general, a higher ball count and gravity are desired for higher resolution monitors. The following are recommended settings for various screen resolutions.
